Instruction For Authors
Peer review policy
The International Journal of Information Resource Management operates a strictly anonymous peer review process in which the reviewer’s name is withheld from the author and, the author’s name from the reviewer. The reviewers may at their own discretion opt to reveal their name to the author in their review but our standard policy practice is for both identities to remain concealed. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two referees. All manuscripts are reviewed as rapidly as possible, and an editorial decision is generally reached within 6-12 weeks of submission.
Authorship
All parties who have made a substantive contribution to the article should be listed as authors. Principal authorship, authorship order, and other publication credits should be based on the relative scientific or professional contributions of the individuals involved, regardless of their status. A student is usually listed as principal author on any multiple-authored publication that substantially derives from the student’s project, dissertation or thesis.
Acknowledgements
All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an Acknowledgements section. Examples of those who might be acknowledged include research assistants or a person who provided purely technical support but did not directly contribute to the content of the work.
Open Access
Authors have the option to publish open access in this journal via our Open Select publishing program. Publishing open access means that your article will be free to access online immediately on publication, increasing the visibility, readership and impact of your research. Articles published Open Access typically receive more citations* and downloads** compared to those that are not published Open Access.
You will be asked to pay an article publishing charge (APC) to make your article open access.
Peer Review and Ethics
The International Journal of Information Resource Management is committed to peer-review integrity and upholding the highest standards of review. Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it will then be double blind peer reviewed by independent, anonymous expert referees.
Article Types
The International Journal of Information Resource Management publishes original research, review articles and book reviews on library and information science.
Full articles: Contributions should normally be between 4000 and 10,000 words in length. They should include an abstract of not more than 250 words and between three and five key words. The abstract should cover the overall purpose or research problem, stated early in the article, the methodology used, including the research design, sample, and data collection methods, a concise discussion of a few significant research findings, major recommendations, and an overview of the main conclusions of the paper. It is required to include a word count for your paper.
Review Articles: A Review Article can be about a single book (which must be very significant to warrant this much attention), about several books, or ‘state-of-the-art’ articles.

We seek to protect the rights of our authors and we always investigate claims of plagiarism or misuse of published articles. Equally, we seek to protect the reputation of the journal against malpractice. Submitted articles are always checked with duplication-checking software. Where an article, for example, is found to have plagiarised other work without permission or with insufficient acknowledgement, or where the authorship of the article is contested, we reserve the right to take action including, but not limited to: publishing an erratum or corrigendum (correction); retracting the article; taking up the matter with the Head of Department or Dean of the authors institution and/or relevant academic bodies or societies; or taking appropriate legal action.
Prior publication
If material has been previously published it is not generally acceptable for publication in the The International Journal of Information Resource Management. However, there are certain circumstances where previously published material can be considered for publication such if the paper was published with some vital and significant content omitted.
Preparing your manuscript for submission
Structure
Your paper should be compiled in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, materials and methods, results with captioned table(s) & figures on individual pages; discussion, recommendations, conclusion, references; and appendices (as appropriate).
Formatting
The preferred format for your manuscript is Word.
Supplementary material
The International Journal of Information Resource Management does not currently accept supplemental files.
Style Guidelines
Please use American spelling style consistently throughout your manuscript. Use double quotation marks, except where “a quotation is ‘within’ a quotation”. Please note that long quotations should be indented without quotation marks.
Follow the style guidelines described in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.). Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (11th ed.) should be consulted for spelling.
Formatting and Templates
Tables and Figures should be saved together with the text. To assist you in preparing your paper, we provide formatting template(s) as follows:
Divide your article into clearly defined sections. Each subsection should be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.
References
Use APA or any other style that embeds citations in the article, e.g., (Okafor, 2015), with a list of works cited at the end of the article. Do not use footnote or endnote citations. Please include links to any web resources that are mentioned.
Using Third-Party Material in a Manuscript
Authors must obtain the necessary permission to reuse third-party material in their article. The use of short extracts of text and some other types of material is usually permitted, on a limited basis, for the purposes of criticism and review without securing formal permission. If you wish to include any material in your paper such as illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere for which you do not hold copyright, and which is not covered by this informal agreement, you will need to obtain written permission from the copyright owner prior to submission.
